Have you already got your Spiderman wallpaper?
Marvel, of course, you do know! The incredible HULK, Spider Man, Daredevil, Iron Man, the X-Men, Thor… they are all “Marvel comics”. If you have never held one of those comics books in your hands, I bet you have ever heard of one its famous heroes (there are about a thousand of them). Born in the 60s, these comic books have quickly become a weekly must-have schedule for teenagers, and soon for adults.
Actually, the Marvel business has worked so well within the last 50 years, that movies, TV films, cartoons, video games, fancy dresses, clothes, and almost everything in terms of entertainment have been based on the comics.
I got my first “Strange” in the early 80s. Spiderman ? IronMan ? The huge format of the book hid heroes empowered with very complex psychology, who kept trying to save the world while trying to seduce their sexy next-door neighbor, without revealing their true identities.
A student becoming the upholder of the district’s laws, respected by his fellow-citizens, an alcoholic billionaire tinkering a high-technological, flying and indestructible armour… As a child, you dreamt about being popular, loved, all-powerful (at least young men). So this is how it’s done. The Marvel comics called upon the fears and doubts of teenagers and young adults of that time (nuclear weapons, the cold war, the space conquest…)
Thus, the scriptwriters used a hold-up or any mediated story in the news as a springboard to create absolutely fascinating stories that never end, with lovey dovey twists and turns that make you forget the outer world till the next episode.
A real soap opera in advance of its time.
Well, ok, everyone has dug the concept. However, how did everything begun?
According to Mister WIKIPEDIA, the Marvel Comic’s boom begun in the 60s when Martin Goodman asked Stan Lee and many talented cartoonists such as Jack Kirby or Steve Ditko to surf on the latest super heroes’ success. First, the fantastic four (1961), then Hulk, Spiderman, the Iron Man …
Spiderman was one of the most popular of these first super heroes. The vintage cartoon has probably contributed to its success… remember?
So, you dug it, Marvel has become THE sci-fi comics’ benchmark. Then, Marvel became THE merchandising benchmark and signed that 10 last years some of the biggest blockbusters ever:
• Blade
• The X-Men and Wolverine
• Daredevil
• Elektra
• Spider-Man
• Hulk
• The Punisher
• Iron Man (coming soon in movies)
• The Fantastiv Four
• The silver surfer
• Ghost Rider…
That’s not enough !
Here, as evidence, the last trailer based on IRON MAN, my favorite hero (no more than a few months before it came out).

Listen. Do not have an opinion while you listen because frankly, your opinion doesn?t hold much water outside of Your Universe. Just listen. Listen until their brain has been twisted like a dripping towel and what they have to say is all over the floor.
